  5. This file contains the installation routines for the 
  6. fully functional demo version of Embellish.  To run
  7. the installation the following method is suggested:
  8.  
  9. For Win95 users, run setup.exe to install Embellish.
  10.  
  11. For OS/2 users, run install.exe to install Embellish.
  12.  
  13. Full un-install is supported, information is available
  14. from the read.me file which is created during installation.

  19. What is Embellish?
  20.  
  21. Embellish is a cross platform (OS/2 & Win95) image editing
  22. application.  It is completely
  23. multithreaded - multiple images can be opened simultaneously,
  24. file saves and printing occur in the background, etc.  You have
  25. control over the priority of processes, which allows you to
  26. manage which programs get the most attention.
  27.  
  28. Embellish takes an object orientated approach to image editing.
  29. Every time you make a paint stroke, cut and paste or perform a
  30. special effect you create an object. These objects can be moved,
  31. resized, manipulated or have transparency changed.  You can even
  32. link a URL to an object for use in creating image maps.  Save
  33. objects for later use or copy and paste objects between
  34. different images.

  36. Embellish includes 22 special effects, such as swirling, oil
  37. painting and acid wash.  Effects can be applied to the entire
  38. image or just to selected objects.

  40. Embellish has over 50 built in numerical filters with the
  41. ability to design your own (up to 7 by 7 grid).
  42.  
  43. Embellish has 16 paint tools that can be combined with 14 types
  44. of "paint" to create an almost unlimited variety of looks to
  45. your paint strokes.

  47. Embellish includes web tools to optimize colors for use in
  48. browsers.  It also can create image maps to make your Web site
  49. really professional.  As mentioned, you can link URLs to objects
  50. to make creating image maps a snap and also allow you to easily
  51. change images without having to completely recreate the image
  52. map.

  54. Embellish supports interlaced/transparent GIFs as well as
  55. interlaced JPEGs.  In fact it supports over 14 different file
  56. formats and includes batch conversion routines.
  57.  
  58. Embellish supports pressure sensitive digitizers.  To use a
  59. digitizer under OS/2 requires IBM's Pen for OS/2.
  60.  
  61. The Win95 version also supports TWAIN acquisition devices.
  62. OS/2 scanner support is currently limited to drivers provided
  63. buy CFM of Germany.
